Richard,

The NT writers didn't have the mention the birth of Y'shua. Succot did that
for them! They knew. They weren't dumb. Even the rabbis and sages knew the
time of their visitation, and there was Messianic fever during that time.
The gospel accounts reveal this. G-d set up the signposts, as holidays for
us, for this very reason. They didn't have to announce what had already
been announced, nor did they have to celebrate what was already being
celebrated.

Besides, birthday celebrations are an American and western cultural thing.
It is not a Jewish practice. What we really need to celebrate besides the
fact that "G-d is with us" is that the work He did on our behalf, and then
to serve Him and His Kingdom, which is true "worship". The word in Hebrew
for worship, literarlly means "service". Instead, too many of us go around
decorating xmas trees, putting up lights, and singing birthday songs.

hmmmm.

Uri
