A Special Announcement!

This is just a brief note to let folks here know that this and 40 other Church-related mailing lists are now being carried in WWW format in a news-series called "CyberChurch". The full set of topics is listed at the bottom of this note.

If you use Mosaic or NetScape (etc) to connect to "http://associate.com" you will notice the CyberChurch icon on the far right. Click on it and you'll get a master index of all the news areas (actually e-mail lists) available on the system. Click on a specific conference name and you will switch to another web page containing a list of messages - much like what you'd see with a personal newsreader.

When you select the highlighted "Subject:" field of any message, you will be shown the contents of that message. Returning from the message to the main index of messages allows you to click on the highlighted "From:" field (author's e-mail address) of that message to reply privately to his/her message.

This is not a "news server" per se (ie. it's not shared with other servers), but it's as fast as my connection and easy to use. There is another news area inside the BBS area (accessible from the main web page) that contains other mailing lists of interest to Mac enthusiasts.

My plan is to add up to a dozen more Christian e-mail lists to the CyberChurch area, rounding out the categories that will interest most folks who browse there. These lists will be added gradually over the coming weeks as I hear of them. There is a Listserv running here, and I'm interested in starting the following mailing lists if anyone would like to volunteer to manage the one(s) that interest you. Some ideas are

AssemblyOfGod
BibleArchaeology
ChristianChurch
ChristianUnity
ChurchOfGod
DeafMinistries
EndTimes
GodlyGraphics
MediaWatch
Methodists

I welcome your ideas for expansion or improvement of the witness provided by this system. I expect that you'll be pleasantly suprised by this nifty news presentation method, so do stop by! (-;
