That is a very interesting point.  I have never accepted the interpretaion
that generation implied -those- persons who where present with the Lord when
He spoke those words.  I have always understood -generation- to mean -race-.
Which could also imply the meaning that although the Jewish race would soon
be placed under severe hardships, that they would ultimately survive as a
race.  However, with the understanding that the Church is the Bride of
Christ, and the focus of God in the New Testament, and with the
understanding that their is neither Jew nor Gentile under the present age of
Grace, then the above implications do make very good sense.
