Rebuild the Temple?

A couple of weeks ago, there was some discussion about whether Christians
should contribute to the building of a third temple, wherein sacrifices
would resume.

This portion of a bio on Ambrose, a 4th century Bishop in northern Italy,
is somewhat related to that thought. The emperor at the time was
Constantitus (sp?), I believe, son of Constantine. Thought I'd forward
to this list....

> Less creditable, to modern Christians,
> is Ambrose's dispute with the emperor when certain Christians burned
> a Jewish synagogue, and the emperor commanded them to make
> restitution. Ambrose maintained that no Christian could be compelled
> to provide money for the building of a non-Christian house of
> worship, no matter what the circumstances.
