Santa: harmless fun/dangerous illusion/pernicious cult?

Note also the god Santa Claus has his temples or places of worship
(shopping malls), where you can find his acolytes (the elves),
directing the masses of True Believers who are lined up just to
touch the Priest (he isn't really the god SantaClaus, but is a
mediator, the one taking the place of god, which is exactly the
role of a priest).  Mark already touched on the omniscience and
providence attributed to SantaClaus.
