Jesus loves me best

The Lord has blessed us with many great financial blessings. I'll share
one from our early Christian walk.
I was pregnant with our first child and my husband wanted to buy a house
for us. We had positively no money, but we were so green we didn't know
we needed any!
We were always faithful to pay our tithes and made some definite
sacrificial giving to foreign missions. We went without alot.
My husband mentioned to our pastor that we were looking for a house and
my pastor (being in the rental business) said he knew of one. It was a
bank repo and he asked us how much we could afford per month. We told
him. He found out that the monthly payment was exactly that plus .29. We
told him we thought we could swing it.: )
We looked at the house and it was perfect. It even had a room all
decorated in pink although I didn't know I was going to have a girl.
We went through the paperwork and they told us there would be no down
payment or closing costs. "Great!", we said. Closing day came and the
officer passed lots of papers that we signed and then said " Well, the
taxes owed are $800.00. Wait a minute. These papers have a problem.
Well, forget it, the bank will worry about the taxes." \O/ !! Good
thing! We didn't have $800.00 anywhere!! The officer said " Well, it
looks like it will cost you .15 to move in." We scrounged around for .15
and gave it to the officer and he gave us the keys. We didn't even know
what the Lord had done for us until we bought our second house!!
Those were our "chicken thigh and potato years" (we "fondly" call them).
We didn't buy chips, pop, paper towels or a host of other things. A big
night was going to the grocery ( convenience stores were too expensive)
to buy some Brach's candy and some cheese puffs and go home and play a
game but we always paid our tithes and offerings too and God was
incredibly faithful to us.
" There is he that scattereth and yet increaseth; and there is that
withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty." Prov.11:24
