According to Mark 11:25, we are to forgive...if we don't, our Heavenly
Father won't forgive us.
Should we trust those who have wronged us? Depends. If they have
sincerely repented of their wrong doing, then we are to consider their
sincerity. After all, we are to bring for fruit meet for repentance.
Godly sorrow works repentance.
BUT if the individual shows no remorse, we are not obligated to them
anymore other than to forgive them (and forget the wrong). This isn't
easy, but it must be done by Faith.
Think about the times when we've hurt the Lord by our faults and sins.
Our Heavenly Father was quick to forgive us and forget our wrong doing.
We are to be like our Heavenly Father. That's why Jesus commanded us to
"be perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect." "Perfect" meaning
"complete." Hope this helps...
I've had many opportunities to hold grudges against those who attempted
to wound me...but Psalm 119:165 has always been a help in that area...It
is OUR responsibility to do what is right. We are not accountable for
the actions of others...just our actions.
