Tithes and Offerings

Yikes, I did not mean to start another debate on the necessity of tihing when I
stated that each church should have its by-laws set up how the church income is
dispensed. All I was trying to do is pass on a bit of learning that we (the
church I attend) had regarding this matter. In fact the manual of the UPC states
that the Pastors compensation is to be determined and agreed upon by both the
Pastor and the Church Board. This to me states clearly that the exact
compensation (all the tithes) is cast in stone. Again I reiterate that if your
church does not have a good set of by-laws, they should for the protection of
the church as a whole and for the protection of many individuals. They in no
means detract for the positions of authority, but instead lay them out for all
to see and in this way there is never a dispute over "turf".

Lord Bless in the Precious Name of the Lord Jesus Christ;
Bro. Bill (I believe that all church member should finacially support the
church) Clifton
