>Ok Skip,

One of the things the Pharisees did, btw, was institute outwardly
standards to insinuate external holiness while allowing the inside to
rot.
>He said if your father was Abraham then you would do the works of
Abraham. What were
>the works of Abraham-- Faith and tithing. Who did Abraham give the
>tithe to ---Jesus Christ---I am born of the seed of Abraham by FAITH.
>Abraham is the father of the Faithful. Jesus Gave his ministry unto
>man. Men that he has called to preach his message.
And those first twelve did NOT teach a mandatory tithe, did they?
>This does not belay the fact that there will be Judas's and Sauls. If I'm
prayed up this
>should never be a major problem. The Church is to be led by what
>seems to be Good
Seems? If they are going to make decisions that will influence members'
lives, they had best base any such decisions of leadership on the Bible.
>to our leaders and THE HOLY GHOST.
I would state that in the exact opposite order.
>No man should ever think he knows more than the church leadership.
Is it really your opinion that Church Leadership is infallible? If not,
they HAVE to be questioned.
>If he or she does it is called rebellion and that is as the sin of
witchcraft.
If you claim to know anything more than the church leadership you are a
witch?
So those people who followed Jim Jones were in the Will of God for not
questioning him?
>This spirit of witchcraft is very prevalent in these last days.God did
not give me
>the bible to save me and perfect me
Really? So it's useless?
>but he gave me apostles, pastors, prophets , evangelists and teachers.
Who had BETTER be grounded in the Bible, else they will lead you wherever
THEY seem to think is good...
>These are to live by the gospel. God is their portion. Now pray tell what
is God's
>portion.Jesus said render unto Cesar that which is cesar's and unto
>God what which is God's.Now may I ask what portion is God's---duh???---
>the tenth part. Jesus also said "don;t leave this part undone".
>The Word of God is so simple IF you are led of the spirit.
Are you insinuating that anyone with a different opinion than yours is
not being led of the Spirit?
>Why anyone would question tithing is beyond me it has been used in
>The Church since before my memory.
Now THERE'S an excellent Catholic defense if I ever saw one. "Why, no, I
can't find it in the Bible, but these traditions of men have been
repeated since before my birth, ergo it must be right with God"?
>Now I don't think all my church fathers were ignorant and just did'nt
>know any better.
Then it should be extremely simple for you to prove where the NT Church
used tithing as we recognize it today. We CLAIM to be Apostolic,
following the guidelines of the ORIGINAL Church, but the original Church
didn't institute tithing.
>If you want take on yourself the decision to whom or what you want to
pay tithes
>that is your decision and you evidently know more than our leadership.
IOW, you are insinuating that, given your above claim that anyone with
this outlook is the same as a witch?
So, using your logic, anyone who does not tithe is a witch?
That would mean that the entire NT Church at the time of Paul were
witches...
>You might even start your own church???
>This is a very old song and I'm going to play it like it is written.
It's not written that way in the Bible, so I don't know what book you're
reading.
>By the way I am a pastor, prolphet, and teacher.
>MARK MATHIS
So therefore you are automatically right?
Then Pastor, please show me in my Bible where the NT Church instituted
tithes as it is done today. You can't do it, because WE are the Temple
of the Holy Ghost. The early Church met in saints' homes or were a
community living together. Preachers lived on what we today would
describe as "love offerings".
Bottom line question: Do you believe that NOT tithing a sin in the NT?
