Imputed Rightenous

Tim:
It was to clarify things for the person that said that Jesus' righteousness
is imputed to us. This is the foundation for the "once saved, always saved"
heresy. Once you destroy the foundation of Jesus' righteousness being
imputed, the rest falls under its own weight...

Mike:
Not to be argumentative, (you know me better than that ;-) ) but just who's
righteousness *does* the Lord impute upon us?

Me:
Not to seem a little annoyed by those who belabor points I have already
addressed, you know ME better than that, nor to supply Bible in place of
personal opinion but, as I have already three or four times stated:

Romans 4:11
And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the
faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of
all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness
might be imputed unto them also:

Romans 4:22
And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

James 2:23
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it
was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

For which I also would not presume to 'interpret' what is clearly in black
and white before our eyes and say something like "Our deeds in the Lord are
counted (put on our accounts) IN PLACE OF righteousness." That would then
of course mean that we ARE righteous when WE in faith yield to God in Christ
Jesus BY OUR OWN DEEDS that conform us to His Image.

Acts 2:40
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves
from this untoward generation.

As always, Bro. Mike, I find greater peace by NOT discussing things with
you. ;-)
