Actually, I don't believe there are any NT scriptures that mandate
tithing. The NT Church did not consist of buildings made of men.
Gathering places were usually saints' homes.
Before the flames begin, I believe that tithes are necessary to maintain
the Church, but I don't believe they fall into the same category as they
did in the OT, or else we still WOULD be obligated to giving the
aforementioned "shekel that each male had to give each year for
restoration of the Temple".

As far as I have read, tithes were not taken in NT Churches. And please
don't be so quick to label anyone who disagrees with you a "false
teacher".
