For those who think this scene is far fetched, I admit to planting the
socks color in Bro Jerry Welsh's mind. A minister friend of mine was
visiting a church for the first time, and was asked by the usher on first
introduction to change the color of his socks to white. Yes you need not
re-read that. Change the color of his socks to white was the request on
_First_Introduction_. 

Only one word for that. Prepostous!
Oh, and nice intro Sis Lynne of the color related to gangs, this was not
the case in the town where this church was situated. 
When I was in High School there was a man who played the drums who did
not wear socks at all. Wonder where that put him? LOL
