I think that perhaps he was a little soft in the last paragraph.

"I believe his experience is legitimate and I rejoice in what he has allowed
God to do in his life. But I do not believe such a person has fully shared
in the normative New Testament experience"

I believe if our gospel be hid it be hid to them that are lost.
