Actually what the "tithes" are is the descision of the saints of the church.
This should be set aside in the by-laws of the church (if your church does not
have these, then it really should). I agree that a Pastor's salary should come
from them, but also the running of a church and other expenses may be needed.
There are many different senarios for the paying of a Pastor from "all the
tithes", to "x% of the tithes" to a straight salary regardless of the tithes. If
this pastor used church money (he was not supposed to get all the tithes) for
personal use then he was wrong.
