If you are talking about "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a
woman to lust after her hath committed adultery in his heart." How
about: " Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no
murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." 1 John3:15
If we are going to equate thought with the actual deed, we would have to
put all those that hate their brother in prison for murder. It is my
opinion that Jesus was trying to proclaim how God feels when we do these
things and that we must take our thoughts and attitudes seriously.
I see fornication as *only* the actual deed and not the thought. The
thought, however, is sin that needs to be repented of.
