You:
Three what and one
what? Catholics would say three persons, one essence. Some Apostolics would
say three manifestations, one God. It depends on what you have the numbers
represent.
Me:
I have a thought. How about we let them represent the FATHER, THE WORD AND
THE HOLY GHOST. ;-) That is what is said. This verse was written in by a
man in the 1500s. I NEVER appeared in any manuscript anywhere other than
the one he wrote and those which copied from him. Unless you are willing to
raise this man to a status of Angel that came down from Heaven, you will
have to admit that the KJV is inaccurate. Even IF he was an Angel come down
from Heaven, Paul had him covered:
Galatians 1
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the
grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would
pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you
than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel
unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Now, since this was NEVER taught by Paul...
You:
There are many who dismiss Mark 16:12-20 on the same principals of textual
criticism. I certainly don't want to lose those!
Me:
While these verses were added, THESE do not contradict one Word of
Scripture. While they were not in the original, they do NOT teach "another
Jesus". ;-)
These are actually believed to be a translator's personal footnotes. ;-)
The reason no one will admit this is that then they would also have to admit
that the doctrine of the necessity for baptism was indeed in full force in
the time the text was changed...
The KJV is pretty good. Except for a couple of places, it is dead on! It
is the only one I use. ;-) I just want everyone to know that it is just a
TRANSLATION and that the Word was written in Greek by the Apostles. There
is NOT ONE contradiction or error in that!!! NOT ONE...
The fact that these manuscripts were copied over centuries and from mearly
every culture in the world to the degree of accuracy that spanned all of
this should in and of itself prove the existance of God and His Providence.
The Word is that which He has preserved over the aeons. The KJV is just an
attempt to put that in English; Old English at that.
