Although it is quite odd to be the local Liberal (at least on this
thread), I would contend that the basic problem is the strength that the
standards are mandated. This results in friction, ESPECIALLY if you
fellowship other Churches that don't have the same standards, thus the
stumblingblock.
Instead of teaching against television, for example, why not simply teach
the BIBLICAL premise that originated it?
"Don't place any evil thing before your eyes"
This would take care of the bad part of television, JUST as it would take
care of the bad parts of the Internet.
Which has waaaay more filth than television ever THOUGHT about having...
