Is *anyone* starting to think 'maybe' some of these verses were 'fudged' a
>bit to suit the powered elite of the day?
You:
Sure that sounds possible.........anything is possible.......but maybe its
your *FAITH* that determines if its Heaven or Hell for you. Tim what it
*ALL* really comes down to in the end is........did you allow your faith
*IN* Jesus (AND HIM ALONE) "guide" you into all righteousness (still waiting
on the final outcome for this definition) or did you lean slightly or even
strongly to your own understanding??
Me:
One night while reading the Bible through for the first time (I think ;-) I
ran across this verse:
1 John 5
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and
the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
I said to the Lord "Lord, this cannot be right! If this one verse is true,
then the Oneness doctrine is false. There is NO WAY around that." Well, to
say the least, I was a little shaken, not in faith but in the implications
of this situation. I thought about it for a few days and then said to the
Lord "The only resolution to this problem that I can see Lord is that this
verse was GROSSLY misinterpreted." Oh, I was happy to see a glimmer of
hope. I raced to my Strong's concordance and there I found.... That they
had Greek words for all ot the words in question. Still, I knew that this
verse simply COULD NOT HAVE BEEN WRITTEN IN THE ORIGINAL. No doubt in my
mind at this point. I KNEW what God had shown me. I KNEW that it could not
be false and He had shown me that He is One. A few days later, I was
reading in one of the books I had picked up, one that had four 'transaltion'
of the new testament running side by side. Out of curiousity I turned to
the verse in question and there was OVERJOYED to find a footnote that stated
catagorically that the verse was OUTRIGHT ADDED in the early 1500s. ;-D
All that aside (and I can't put it aside except retorically ;-), you cannot
escape the implications of Hebrews IF these verses are acurate, and they
MOST CERTAINLY are not. ;-) IF they are true you must both obey those who
have rule over you: END OF DISCUSSION ***and*** you must also obey the king
as if he were God: END OF DISCUSSION.
What's not to understand???

Because if the test of Faith in this time and in this age is whether the
good ol bibles right then Ill stick with it all the way. If we try to
unrevise that which is revised without knowing without a doubt that which
was revised then we roll the dice with our faith (with a slight leaning to
our own understanding). And If you were able to follow that last sentence
please email me and let me know what I just said. :-)
