You:
I'm not sure if you were replying to my post or not, but if you were I
would like to state that 1 Tim 5:1 is written above as a direct quote
from the bible.

Me:
Am I missing something here? What then are the PASSAGES I cut and pasted???

You:
I used it to state that a pastor who a person thinks is
wrong should be entreated as a father *first*.

Me:
Actually, the way YOU wrote it, the ONLY impression ANYONE could have drawn
was that it (rebuking of an elder <NOT just a pastor BTW> should NOT be done
at all...

You:
My personal opinion is
that the point behind this passage is we should think before we go and
not go rashly. As far as rebuking an elder as in vs. 20, I would leave
the rebuking before all to my higher ups if it needed to be done.

Me:
You are entitled to your personal opinion. It is in direct contradiction to
the written Word, however....

Also, let's address another argument since I have your attention (I was
going to let it go, but since I am here...). In regard to how men think
about "Churched Looking" women <the term Apostolic is TOTALLY inacurate> I
would like to say that as for my cedentials as an expert in the field I
would offer these things:

1) I have been a male for 40+ years now.

2) I have worked with this type of male for over 33 of these.

3) While at work with these males, I have spoke in great painstaking detail
with them about their opinions, especially those concerning women.

4) Even though you may have come from an alcoholic background, as an
ex-alcoholic, I can assure you that even they have one standard for other
women and another for their own daughters.

5) You do not gain any man's respect. You cannot earn it either. They will
respect those who fit the preconcieved notion they have of a respectable
person.

Anyway...
