I have to confess, we do sing MUCH "Southern Gospel", like "Goin' home to
Jesus", in my church (as one with a degree in music, I think the term is
just "Gospel" in general, as opposed to "hymn" or "anthem").  My pastor is
from Louisiana, so much of what we sing has a brass accompaniment, even the
ones out of the "old" hymnal.  And often, we sing at breakneck speed, when
the song does not require it.  HOWEVER, there is usually a blend between
that and Contemporary Christian favorites and traditional Chrisitan hymns.
