>At the Church I was at before this, I was the High School level Sunday
School Teacher and I was shocked that none of the kids knew much about
their Bible. At school, they silently smoldered when talk of the theory
of evolution came up. Their Baptist friends would always get the last
word in the Trinity discussions.
Now you have stated a good idea, but the fact still remains that if the
Pastor did not want you to do something, you should be willing to accept
it. As for telling young people that if it is not in Scripture, then
don't accept it, well that is not a good idea at all. They need to be
taught some respect for Pastorial authority, as there is no respect in
the world today. We grilled our Youth using the concept of putting God on
trial. It was at the District level, and I wish we could have taken it
church to church to prompt them to search for more.
