You said it in a nutshell; HIS standards, HIS personal belief.  I believe
that, especially on the beard standard, it would be WRONG for a Pastor to
mandate the congregation follow his PERSONAL beliefs, JUST as I believe

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever.  The problem with
these local standards is that they are NOT universally consistent.  That
is, you could be a saint in good standing in one Church, yet "rebelling
against the man of God" in another, and YOU'RE not doing anything
different.  It is the different standards of different Churches.

My view on LEADERSHIP in the Church is different. I do believe that the
Pastor should have the right to place a higher standard on those in
leadership positions in the Church, but should be very careful what he
mandates, else he generate stumblingblocks.
