Ya'll are losing track of things.  The UPC originally took a stand
in the '60's against beards *only* because during the time the stand
was taken, beards were seen **** "by the world" ***** as a sign of 
rebellion!!  To distance themselves (and their witness) from
this "conception", they asked and put in the by-laws that beards
not be worn by men from the UPC.  There has never been, to my
knowledge, anyone saying that the Bible says beards are wrong.

After this post, I am off the list until after my vacation.  Please send
any
