Really....
Yup.

<VBG> That's the second time this week I was called a heretic. I called
on a radio talk show at about 3 AM (I just got in from work and was
listening in the car on the way home). The host was talking to some kind
of Episcopal Higher Up and I dared call in and say that there was one
God. He stifled a haughtly laugh and called me a heretic. I quoted
several verses in Isaiah and he had to interupt me to give me his
personal impression of what God is like. (He felt God is like a cup of
ice water on a hot day; it's all water, but one part is the liquid, one
part is the solid ice and one part is the steam arising off the ice). I
couldn't believe that he was trying to interupt SCRIPTURE for that!
>I mean really, the church can't just go around telling people that
>THEY are responsible for their OWN behavior can they?
Uh, well, uh...I'm sorry!!!
>You would have anarchy!!! Think of it! People would study for
>themselves and reason in the Word and before you knew it,
>there would be talk of, BRACE YOURSELVES AND
>PLEASE LADIES, AVERT YOUR EYES, *freedom*. Sorry, but your

>Before you know it, ministers would have to study the Bible and be
>CORRECT before they could preach anywhere.
Last month there was a visiting Preacher who, FROM THE PULPIT in the
middle of his message, told the congregation that Bill Gates "admitted"
that he personally owned the most powerful computer in the world and
nicknamed it "The Beast". I almost fell out...
>Why, before anyone could hold and keep an office, they would have to
>have the signs and wonders following them that the Bible speaks of.
You mean besides them now saying "I wonder" and pointing to the sign
outside the building?
I see what you mean!
>Every member of the church would be accountable to ANY OTHER
>member of the church for their behavior.
And, worse for the devil, every member would be armed to the teeth with
the sWord.
>Worst of all, the whole church would be accountable for providing for
>the needs of the individual!!!
Stop it; you almost have me agreeing with you!
>The whole focus of the church would shift! Instead of trying to fill
>the pews at any cost to have the appearance of a huge following,
>we would be more interested in the CONDITION of the few or
>many that filled them! Why the only way anyone could tell that we
>were separate from the World at all would be after close, intimate
>examination of our day to day lives. NONE of us want ***THAT*** do we!
No way! Nice haircuts and perms are easy distractions "Hey, there's a
Pentecostal!"
>If we did things YOUR way, after the initial thrill of a new convert
>wore off, we would have to WORK with them to EDUCATE them
>as to what is required for them to make it into Heaven!
And then they wouldn't be "below us" anymore; they would ALMOST be
equals, wouldnt' they?
>We would have to TOLERATE their ignorance and their sinful ways
>until they had a REAL CHANGE OF HEART. Have you any idea
>how much of the churches valuable resources would be taken
>away from SOUL WINNING if we had to 'slow down' for these
>people?
But WOW! When they catch up...!
>Are you insane?!?!?!?!? Organized religion AS WE KNOW IT would cease
>to exist!!!!
Cool, huh? :)
Hey, where do you preach? I'd like to hear some of your sermons and I
would even ignore the beard...
