Because I just quoted this verse above I feel a need to respond to this.
It is not my point to cause confusion here because as you all by now
know, I am very for holiness standards.
No, " obey them that have the rule over you" is NOT all we need. We need
a personal revelation. We need understanding. It is *not* God's will
for us to run around like a bunch of idiots. It is also God's will for
us to submit.
We have two types of thinking here that are generally displayed on this
topic. One is "obey blindly" the other is " question everything and do
what you think is right". Neither concept is totally correct. We must
realize that the same Bible that said " Obey them that have the rule over
you" also says " You have made the word of God of none effect by your
traditions" ( Not an exact quote).
The key to unlocking this mystery is a personal walk with God and a
personal revelation. I do not believe that everyone who questions is
rebellious. I believe that we should question and weigh everything and
*wait* on God. If you know for a *fact* and 100% that you are right and
God has opened up the kingdom of heaven for you to bulldoze knew paths
for God's kingdom, then go for it. But God also has a *right* way to
accomplish these things and I think most people on this list are not
equipped to bulldoze in any shape or form. To be prepared you must first
proceed with much prayer and fasting. We cannot change things in the
flesh.
Those of us who love holiness are fully aware that things aren't perfect.
" And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but
perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Either how cans't thou
say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine
eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye and then
thou shalt see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's
eye." Luke 6:41,42
