Discussions don't normally have the brakes put on them as long as
there's no ugliness involved. It's when the comments are directed about
the person at point blank range and not aimed at the thought or idea expressed.
There's a big difference in calling me, Bro Tyler, "A huge pile of bovine
manure" ... which would bring some degree of shame as the eyes turn towards
me -instead of- making the stament that the last statement that was just
made "stinks up the whole place with a foul and putrid odor" which doesn't
condemn me but says strong words against thoughts that may or may not be
changable. Shame is brought on by one comment but not the other.
The notion is to discuss thoughts and ideas.
Sometimes the thoughts and ideas cover the realm of people ... like now for
instance ... we're talking about "pastors" in general. There's been times
when specific pastors have been named (actually they already have names)
in the posts, which is o.k., as a general rule they normally aren't.
At the times the brakes were applied recently to discussions, there was
much bad words flying around and around. I don't think anybody felt good
by it.
