Creature or Creator?

With all the 'flap' about the role of a pastor and all, let me share with
you
something that the Lord gave me a few days before I even knew He was
going to let me come back to the list. Many may not know it, but I left at
His
prompting before. I'll tell ya why if'n your interested via a private
email. ;-)

Romans 1
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are
clearly
seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power
and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither
were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish
heart
was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like
to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping
things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their
own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Worshipped the creature more than the Creator. I read this and wondered
why, is the list above was a long one, that Paul wrote the word "creature"
in
the singular? Here is the answer:
Exodus 20
18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise
of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they
removed, and stood afar off.
19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let
not God speak with us, lest we die.
HERE is where those spoken of in Romans chose the creature over the
Creator! This is where the Israelites chose to follow the law of Moses
above
the Law of God! It was when they would not go the God Himself, in Person
and chose instead an earthly representative.
What are we told today?
Hebrews 4
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may
obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
As we stand before the mountain today and the trumpet sounds and there is
smoke and Fire, who are WE trying to send up lest the Lord come down upon
us? Speaking for myself, I thank God in Christ Jesus that *I* can walk
boldly up the mountain and fall before the Throne!
