One other problem is that the pastor (if not careful) will overlook other
members in the congregation who are capable of doing certain jobs. This is
not so much concerning the pastors position. But it often happens in family
churches. I have been at churches where the pastors family almost run the
church. They are the first put into positions. Even when they are not the
best qualified. And I am talking about spiritual and natural qualifications.
On the other hand I know of some instances where the son is the one God
wanted to suceed the father - no doubt. So it can happen either way. We
cannot make the mistake of thinking that all apparant "hand me down"
situations are not of God. For many are indeed ordained of God. As was said
we need to just let God handle it. If we are at a church that has a situation
that we are certain is not of God (difficult determination to make) then we
need to pray about finding a place that is of God. Otherwise endure
patiently.
God bless in Jesus name
