You will find if you look in the book of Hebrews a long discourse by Paul
on chastizement. It is certainly the responsibility of the parent to
properly discipline a child. The child who is not appropriately punished
for wrongdoing is considered an illegitimate child by Paul. His concept
of chastizement would be what was set forth under the law. The reason we
have so many unruly children in our culture today is because they are
not made to obey. It is especially bad here in El Paso. The hispanic
culture is very permissive with their children. I wonder if that
is why there are so many gangs here.

An excellent, and I mean excellent book on child training is written by
an author by the name of Fugate. The title is what the bible says about
child training. Failure to follow the bible plan for training will result
in hardship of some kind. Dare to discipline by Dobson is another good
book.

By the way, I believe that both of these authors are of Baptist persuasion.
Last time I checked the Baptists were very big on being saved by grace
