Spanking of children

Interesting topic.  I wonder what some of you pastors and others believe
about this.

I did a little bible study of my own recently and found that I could not
find anything in the new testament that supported spanking, but some
scriptures that seemed to be against it.

Of course we know it is in the old testament, but since we are no longer
under the law but under grace should anyone be spanking their children.

I myself, by the way, do not spank my children.  I have six wonderful girls.
