    Donna> We haven't even discussed
Donna> advancements in technology such as *biometrics* ( a term
Donna> which describes automated methods of establishing someone's
Donna> identity) whereby many banks can now "identify" their
Donna> customers by scanning the iris, or retina, of their eyes,
Donna> finger imaging or fingerscanning. There are also
Donna> quasi-behavior attributes which can be measured---how one
Donna> speaks, or how one writes, are two in use. Then there is
Donna> facial recognition, in which the image of a person's face
Donna> is stored digitally when the persons opens an account. At
Donna> each transaction, a tiny camera feeds a live image of the
Donna> person to a database which compares the image to the one
Donna> stored and to the account number.

I was working on a secret government project in 1988 that gave me
exposure to a number of these devices. I worked with proximity badge
readers, palm geometry scanners, retina scanners, etc. That was
almost 10 years ago. My client, Lucent, recently announced a
fingerprint scanner that can be made part of a laptop computer. These
things are all slick, but I believe that the mark of the beast does
not need to be so complex.  I believe that the mark is already here;
it is just not mandatory yet. "Ye shall neither buy nor sell lest ye
bear the matk." This stage has not yet come upon us.

Donna> As a banker, this new technology is exciting. As a
Donna> Christian, it is just another sign that we are in the LAST
Donna> days. I am anxiously waiting HIS return.

Donna> towers, but I do know banking) Perine
