My hubby and I had a television when we were first married. We would
find ourselves sitting there, him watching something on TV, while I read
a book (I'm a *major* book worm!! ;-)). We finally realized that we were
spending *less* time with each other now, then we did *before* we were
married.........not a very good start to a strong foundation in
marriage.......That was the point when we decided to get rid of
it......and God began to deal with us!! (It is probably also no
coincidence that at about the same time, I became pregnant with our first
child :-)) About a month later, God began to deal with each of us
separately, concerning my home church's youth group......We were both
amazed to find that each of us had a burden for this group of young
people (at that time, they were without an actual *Youth Leader*)

We have now been youth leaders at my home church for 3 years this
October.........Now I am not saying to anyone that God cannot use them if
they watch TV, but how much easier is it for you to hear the calling of
God on your heart, if you are spending time in His word, and in prayer,
and in fasting, rather than * wasting* time
watching TV ( or spending time on the 'puter, for that matter ;-)
(**OUCH!!!!** that one hurt even me.......)

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord............without a TV
:-)
