from Sis Donna: As a rule, I generally always wear my hair up, because
my hubby prefers it. Every now and then, I take a "walk on the wild side"
and wear it down. I get a "kick" out of the responses I get from my
employees here at the bank. They can't believe how long it has grown.
I just smile and say "that's what happens when you don't cut it" :-) :-)

When I first came into the Church I wondered, " if our long hair is our
glory, why do so many Pentecostal women wear it up all the time?" An
elder sister once told me that her first pastor, Bro. Clarence Forbush,
who is now deceased, used to tell the ladies in the church,
" Your hair is a covering for your head, NOT your back".
He expected ALL the ladies in the Church to wear their hair up,
old *and* young.

If you are young (dare I say 50, or younger?) and have beautiful hair,
by all means wear it down. It has been a joy for me this summer
to have one of the young ladies (19, she is going to IBC) from our church
working on the teller line. After working at the bank for two weeks,
she wore her hair ( thick, long enough to sit on, beautiful RED hair) down.
The other tellers were in awe. *Many* customers have commented on
her beautiful hair. We have several customers who come to the
bank each day to transact business. One gentleman commented
to her " I just can't believe your hair is SO long, how do you get it all
up in that little bitty bun?" People are curious about us!! One day,
the bank's Vice President (a male) asked her, " Do you have a hard
time washing your hair?" She just laughed and said " No, do you????"
He's got that "receding hairline thing" going on and all the tellers
had a great laugh over her response. My point is, that I personally
believe it matters little whether we wear our hair up on our head,
or down on our backs. I do, however, believe that the bible teaches
that women should have long, *uncut* hair ( I Cor 11:13-15).
Our long hair can be an effective witnessing tool for Christ *if*
we have the right spirit and attitude. My "change" in appearance
since receiving the Holy Ghost has opened *many* doors for me
to lead the conversation from hair.... to the plan of salvation. And
isn't that what the Lord has saved us for??? We have been taught to
teach. We have been led to lead. We have been sought to seek.
We have been fed to feed, and so on....
