so, what, if anything, should be done about UPC spam?

Well, seems that back on June 27, Bro. Richard forwarded to Higher-Fire an
e-mail he had received from someone who kindly offered to list
"apostolic-owned businesses" on a Web site.

But, here's something else the writer mentioned, at the end of his note:

>>If you would like to get a copy of my upc emailing list in text form
>>email me. For 15.00 I will get you a copy. If you knew the time it took
>>to create this list you would know that 15.00 is a bargain.

Don't know if his list has been widely used or not. But, if the spam load
is a little heavy, you may want to see if you're on this brother's list, in
case that's part of the problem, and ask to be removed.

Also, some mailers are likely using the large Apostolic E-mail Connections
list, maintained online by the folks at Apostolic UPC in Norfolk, VA.

Mind you, that list clearly states:

"As a general rule, this listing is not for commercial spam,
			apostolic or otherwise."

Perhaps "general rules" are meant to be broken a little more often. ;-)
