>>Here is a question I have wanted to ask for a long time,
Why is it that anytime someone wants to be baptized, it is always done
by an licensed minister. What happens when a person askes to be
baptized and we say wait till to night at Sun. Night service and the
persons
dies one hour after Sun. School. Is that persons blood on
the hands of the church? Why couldn't one of the memebers baptize
the person especially on a short notice? Or does the church not recon-
ize it as being valid? For example if I baptized someone (I being just
a musician and not a preacher) Does the church require a rebaptism or
what?<<

FWIW, here's my input: Tradition; as for the church req. a rebaptism well
my question would be does GOD req. a rebaptism? The churches req. doesn't
really mean much if God accepts the baptism. If we accept the Bible to be
true then we must baptise people when they are ready. I'd baptise someone
in a minute. Bro Parent(sp) baptized himself then his wife when he saw the
oneness of God and couldn't find anyone locally.

I also believe the disciples baptised under Jesus' ministry, he was the
minister and they baptized. John was the minister and baptized. So, I
cann't see where other than tradition it matters.

John 4:1-2
1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus
made and baptized more disciples than John,
2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

Acts 18:24-28
24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent
man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent
in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord,
knowing only the baptism of John.
26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and
Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the
way of God more perfectly.
27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote,
exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them
much which had believed through grace:
28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by
the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

Acts 22:12-16
12 And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good
report of all the Jews which dwelt there,
13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive
thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.
14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou
shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the
voice of his mouth.
15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen
and heard.
16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away
thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Acts 9:10-18
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to
him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here,
Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is
called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of
Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and
putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how
much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that
call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel
unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children
of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's
sake.
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting
his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared
unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest
receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and
he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

1 Cor 3:6-9
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that
watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man
shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye
are God's building.

1 Pet 2:5
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy
priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus
Christ.

1 Pet 2:9
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation,
a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath
called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
