so, what, if anything, should be done about UPC spam?

And the "sis's"? I think they do count.

I reply-
Yeah, I get a massive amount of these lately too. I wonder which list
they glean from?
I remember one creative individual who sent a photocopied dollar and
asked each receipent to send back a real dollar. Now before you all run
off to kinkos, this is illegal.... This person also did not have a
Pastor's endorsement, nor the district endorsement. I did check with my
father-in-law who said that he gets a lot of unsolicited materiel
requesting donations. He ignores them since they are not sent with the
proper endorsement.

Maybe we can form a shopper's survey team to see what is for sale.
Amazing that when I have e-mailed some of these persons, my name is
dropped from their lists.
I am not in favor of these being circulated in masse, but to know that
someone has a great idea that works for evangelism would mean more coming
from someone off the list.
I did receive this same spam and did look at the website. Nothing too
exciting, IMHO. I do remember that there was a person who sold whole
8088's and then 286's through the Publishing House. He charged too much
for the computer, then charged for support. It was a bad experience. I
have not bought too much online, but if I go to the local super store and
look at their site, I can brouse before I buy. And they have a no hassel
return policy, and 30 days price guarantee.
