Greetings Saints in Jesus Name!
Someone recently posted about *God's* sense of humor....
does he have one, etc.
Personally, I think God has a pretty *wild* sense of humor.
I think God laughs all the time at all of the different
situation comedies that us saints continue to get in from
time to time through our own blundering.
Let's put it this way..... last night after my family and I
went out driving around looking at houses, we found a Dairy
Queen to get a few treats. The sign outside of the DQ, you
know the kind that you can change the message with big black
letters on a clear plastic slate, that normally mentions specials
and stuff said this:
NOW HIRING
POLISH SAUSAGE
Anyway, after I had ordered for the family and was at the window to
receive the order, I said to the gal at the window: "Did you know
your sign out front says that you're hiring polish sausage?" With her
*humor bit* not set... (or maybe she had heard it all day, or
maybe she was sick of hearing it) ... she said "yeah" as if
not to even get the hint of humor contained therein.
A few moments later, we consumed our goodies in the car in
a parking lot not too awfully far away. And my wife remarked,
"Man! This is the hardest *brownie* I've ever had with a Hot
Fudge Brownie Delight" I then replied, "It takes a lot of
hard work for those Polish Sausages back there to make that
treat. Since that DQ only has Polish Sausages for work, there's
probably lots and lots of training involved to get everything
juuuuuuust right. Everybody laughed."
I said all of that to say this... I think with us people being
made in the image of God, with a full range of emotions like
that of God's. I think that God has a *wonderful* sense of humor.
It may be like the gal at the DQ that appeared to not have gotten
it last night, but at the same time, she might have closed the
window and really hooted and hollered up a storm as soon as we
had left as well.
So many times, our lives seem to be in such tradgedy and chaos
that it seems hard to find any humor in anything at the present
time. We look inwardly and most easily see the bad things that
have happened for the day first. Then it takes a conscious effort
to bring the good thing forward to rememberance.
Another good ALJC friend of mine one time about a dream of this kind
of subject as to whether God has a sense of humor or not. He dreamed
that he saw God sitting at a table with a heap of whoknowswhat in
front of him on the plate. God would take the fork up in his hand,
and stab one of the whoknowswhat chunks. It'd shriek upon being
pierced. Then God would put it in his mouth, chew a few times, spit
it out and said: "Tastes like dung!" Then God would repeat the cycle
over and over and over. Finally, in the dream, my friend asked what
it was that God was mastecating (chewing) and spitting out... and God
said: "Satan! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
Satan tastes like dung to God! Really funny!
Bro "I imagine some won't think that's funny... please toggle your
humor bit on for a while please." Tyler
