Just a Couple of Questions :)

In a message dated 97-07-15 01:33:39 EDT, yew rite:
<< Well, being of the "hillbilly" purswasion>>
Me:
Now I know why we seem to get along so well. I'm half-hillbilly, and
half-farmer. There's some other stuff in there, but nothing else that really
means much. My mother grew up in a "small" town in southern Illinois (so
small, in fact, that one of the larger communities in the area was named
"Cave-In-Rock").
Yew:
<< I think you may have "stomped
yo'sef a toe or twixt" thar bruther!>>
Me:
But we always wear our "Sunday go to meetin' shoes" to church on Sunday. No
guarantee that they''ll stay on during the entire service, though.
Yew:
<<"you'uns
is plumb in da Load's hands, sho' nuf!">>
Me:
We must be mispronouncing it... we always said "Law-wud" (like J. Vernon
McGhee)
Yew:
<< I am not offended but some of the more *bucollic* may be.>>
Me:
"Whut?"
Yew:
<<I can walk into churches, Oneness churches with the Truth, that will
consider me, a repentant, baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, filled with
the Holy Ghost, witnessing to all who listen and those who won't, sin
confessin', tongue talkin', signe and wonders following and certainly
baptized by the firey trails of life (Thank you Jesus!) man in pursuit of
the face of God a sinner because I have a beard. You're right, why waste
time on this issue?!>>
Me:
Let us know if yer ever up in our neck o' the woods, we'd shore like to have
yew come out to preachin', and speak to us the words of the Law-wed. But
don't use all them two-doller words yew use in some of your posts, because
even tho yew talk real purty, we wouldn't get much (understanding) out of it.
Jes' talk to us like one of the good ol' boys that I believe yew are.
1 Cor 2:4-5
4 And my speech and my preaching was *not with enticing words* of man's
wisdom, but in demonstration of the *Spirit* and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of
God.
I thot yew might fancy a few words from "The Good Book".
Yew don't hafta shave, but we would be beholden if'n yew would remember to
take a Saturday night bath first (not required for salvation).
Yew:
<< Wake up y'all!
>>
Me:
Rom 13:11
11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is *high time* to *awake out of
sleep*: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
(KJV)
Sometimes this runs agin my hillbilly nature, but the farmer half makes me
git up and "make hay while the sun shines".
John 9:4
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night
cometh, when no man can work.
(KJV)
