Trinitarians on Our Platforms

I agree that someone has to put the standard into terms that the church can
understand. But I also believe that we all have common convictions where
some things are concerned. For example, the Bible says that women should not
wear what pertaineth to a man, but it does not specifically say "Women
shouldn't wear pants." But ask any of our women to put on a pair of slacks,
and they couldn't do it. It's more than just our teaching that forbids us to
do that. It is God Himself. In my life at least, I can feel that God would
be displeased with me if I wore slacks.
Also, when I first received the Holy Ghost, I always felt like my skirts
should at least cover my knees. It was months later before I ever discovered
the verse where the Bible tells us that for a woman to show her thighs is an
abomination. I didn't know out of preaching or teaching to cover my thighs;
God told me.
We are all familiar with convictions. I think that the standards that the
Church holds today are perfectly suitable. They serve several purposes: the
major ones being Biblical modesty and separating from the world. Regardless
of our small disagreements, let's just pray that God will keep us all holy
until his return!
Forgive the long post!!
