God bless you, Bro. Avery. I also have many wonderful friends in
trinitarian Pentecostal and holiness circles. In fact, back in 1983, I
studied at a college affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada
(the Canadian equivalent of the Assemblies of God). I left after one
semester, when the college president required me to choose between the
school and the conservative Oneness church I attended. I was overwhelmed by
the love and concern of faculty members and students who disagreed with the
president's position and offered to intervene.
It was a short stay, but one of tremendous spiritual blessing and growth.
While there were important differences between our views of the godhead,
there was never any suggestion that we were worshiping altogether different
gods. If such were the case, we would have to rethink our view of the whole
history of modern-day Pentecost, and the common heritage we share with
trinitarian Pentecostals. For instance, we would need to regard
participants in the great Azusa Street revival as poor, deluded souls who
worshiped in vain, prayed in vain, and spoke in tongues as the spirit of a
"false" or "non-existent" god gave the utterance -- after all, they had not
received the Oneness revelation of the true God!
>Everyone please forgive me for the way this will come across to some.
>The last thing that I wish to do is hurt anyone. If you wish to flame

Your message came across to me as nothing but kind and thoughtful.

Bro. Litteral, you may wish to check the H-F archives, as this ground was
covered by several members while you were off the list. My own response to
your assertion would be identical to my reply to Chris Sterrett [Date: Wed,
18 Jun; Subject: Re: AN ARTICLE~~~what does this all mean???].
I believe you also claimed in another post that trinitarians are accursed
because they preach "another gospel" (Galatians 1:8). Mike Harvey posted
the same claim while you were off the list. My response, if it's of
interest, was on H-F Fri, 20 Jun; Subject: Re: Trinitarians Saved? ... No!
