Praying to Triune God

To whomever felt that the AoG believes the same as Oneness Apostolics,
I beg to differ. I am not flaming, only making aware of what
Trinitarians
are saying. The following are excerpts from a article written in 1985
by a Robert M. Bowman Jr. in the Christian Research Institute
magazine. Please note the every effort he made to separate God into a
triune state. My comments are marked with a " >."

"Oneness Pentecostals teach both that there
is one God and that Jesus is fully God."

> Actually we believe that in Jesus dwelt the fullness of the
>Godhead. Colossians2:9

"when Jesus prayed He prayed
as a person talking to another person"

>Trinitarians love to use the word "person(s)" even though
>it clearly separates God into more than one god.

"the person who is the Son existed as a person distinct from
the Father prior to the Incarnation. To this question, the biblical
answer is a clear yes."

>Distinct according to Websters means, "separate, individual"
>Now we have 2 gods in Heaven according to the above remarks.

"it becomes clear that Jesus existed prior to creation\with\the Father.
Thus, John 1:1, "the Word was with God," means He was really there."

>To bad he prooftexted the verse. The verse in its whole says:
>John|1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
>with God, and the Word was God. THE WORD WAS GOD.
>Word translated, "Jesus was God.

"The same is true of the doctrine of the Trinity, which was
formulated to avoid the errors of Arianism and modalism."

>Finally, a trinitarian admits that they made up the trinity.

"We have seen that the Oneness doctrine of God is not faithful to
the biblical revelation of the Father and Son as two persons,"

>Two persons again. Wonder where the third person went?

"when the Bible says that Jesus is "God," it
means that He exists eternally as a divine person in relationship
with the Father; or, to use the church's theological shorthand, it
means that He is the second person of the triune God."

>Ahhh..."or, to use the church's theological shorthand.." Man's theology.
>Romans 3:4 "God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar..."
>Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus is a "divine person in
>relationship with the father?"
>1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of
godliness:
>God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels,
preached
>unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
>GOD was made manifest in the flesh!

"The fact is that the Son and the Father
are two persons, co-existing eternally in relationship with one
another."

>But I thought God was one? According to this he is two people
>in relationship with each other. By the way, will the Holy Spirit
>please raise its hand so that the doctrine of the trinity can be true to
say three?
>All this talk about two makes a "bi" not"tri."

"affirm the Christ of Scripture, the Christ who was sent by the Father
and
who sent the Holy Spirit, and you will find that your God is the
Trinity."

>My God is the great I AM not the WE ARE.

"to deny the trinity is to say that,
historically, Judaism and Islam have been right about the being of
God, while Christianity has been wrong."

>To deny the trinity does not say that Judaism and Islam are correct.
>Isn't that kind of remark like a scare tactic?

"the Christian community has no choice but
to regard the Oneness movement as a whole as having departed from
the Christian faith."

>And we are mean for calling the trinity false? We never departed
>from the Christian faith. We have upheld it. The trinitarians are the
>ones who have pervereted and departed from it. The first mention of
Christian was
after Acts 2:38 pertaining to being Baptized in the name of Jesus
Christ,
which by the way, the trinitarians reject. The Christian church at that
time baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Has the church changed today
or has the creeds of man changed?(Man changed the mode of baptism to
titles)

"Space does not permit a discussion of the distinct personhood
of the Holy Spirit. However, it is safe to say that, once persuaded
of the fact that the Father and Son are two persons of an
indivisible God, most will concede the truth of the Trinity."

FINALLY, the "third person." is finally brought up in the end notes.
DISTINCT=Separate!
PERSUADE= to move by argument or entreaty to a belief or course
of action.

Why is it that a trinitarian has to persuade someone to believe that God
is in a triune state?

To the person who plans on switching to the AoG:
the doctrine of the trinity is false. Even if trinitarians
claim to only have one God, they have so perverted the
belief in him that they have taken on the appearance of evil.
the AoG not only upholds the Trinity, they also do not
baptize in the name of Jesus Christ. They baptize in titles.
To join their assembly and partake of their baptisms, is to say
you agree to titles instead of the name of Jesus Christ.

I plead that before you venture in to something dangerous, that you
pray. You do not have to listen to me or anybody else for that matter.
You don't have to do whatever we say, but you should listen to God
because you will one day have to face Him and explain your decisions
that you made in life.

Please note that I am not trying to flame you or make you look bad. I
am only trying to make aware of the dangers of the trinity doctrine.

God Bless,

Chris Sterrett
