Beards

You:
Had our pastor asked my husband to shave the mustache, I know he would
have done so **immediately** because of his respect for the position, and
the man.
Me:
I must admit that I can't really find your point here. You didn't like the
beard so your husband shaved it. The pastor had a problem with it too but
didn't feel he had the right to say anything about or something so between
the two of you, the mustache went. Your prayer was that God convict your
husband **if** it was wrong and unless I missed something, God did no such
thing.
I have a question for you. Your husband didn't wear the beard to be
rebelious right? Couldn't have since the pastor hadn't said anything.
Your husband had been used at the other church, right? This proves that
God approved him with the beard right? Where, in the Bible does it give
the pastor the right or the authority to "disapprove" those whom God has
approved?
I have worn a beard the whole time I have been saved and God uses me. When
I first got saved I wore a "small" pony tail. I prayed about it and in due
time, God told me to cut it off because it was an offese to my brothers. I
would shave my beard in a heartbeat to win a soul by the action of the Holy
Ghost, a heartbeat. As to the "standards" that a preacher or anyone else
have imposed upon them:
James 2
1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of
glory, with respect of persons.
2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly
apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto
him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there,
or sit here under my footstool:
4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil
thoughts?
I am not saying that we should intentionally dress down or that there is in
and of itself, anything wrong with dress for church. When this pastor
stands before God and is asked "Why didn't you use him, I sent him to you.
Did I not approve him?" What will his answer be?
I have heard it all. It all comes down to this, if your pastor will not
let me preach in your church with my beard and without a suit
and tie, he has sinned. This goes for all those who "stick to their own
orginization" too.
1 Corinthians 1
11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are
of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of
Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in
the name of Paul?
Not to misquote or "edit" the Bible but could this not also be rendered in
context, "Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of the UPC;
and I of the PAW; and I of the ALJC; and I of Christ." The body of Christ
is already united 100%. You will either join this union at this call to
order or lyou shall be amputated.
Matthew 5:29
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for
it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not
that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
If Jesus recommended this to us, how much more will He "amputate" those
that cause their faithful brothers to "offend"?
John 15:2
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch
that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Are not the branches the "members" of the vine?
God has a question for every church with the Truth in these last years of
their existance. "Who is in charge?"
