We just got back from Amarillo. We took Eliphas Mitugo, a BAO pastor from
Kenya Africa to the airport to catch a plane to Houston. We've had him,
just almost a week with us, and it was a wonderful experience. I've always
thought that there was something missing when a missionary come to town and
when he got to his home, it is three blocks from the president of the
country. It was quite different, having him around, than being around a
missionary.
He doesn't own a car, but would really like to have one. In fact, he want's
a pickup, so that he can carry people to church with him. We're going to
support him with $20 a month. It won't be much, but it will help him a lot
I'm sure. He now walks everywhere that he goes, and he wears out a pair of
shoes every month he told us. His wife washes all their cloths by hand. It
was a awesome experience being around him.
He about froze to death while he was here and wore his coat everyday. We
fed him many new things that he had never ate before, and he slept under a
electric blanket for the first time. (with it on #5) We were trying to keep
the house on the warm side for him, so we all slept on top of the covers
most of the night.
I'll be working on setting up some of his pictures on a web page soon.
