THE NAME OF JESUS
There is an old song which says that "the closer I walk, the sweeter He
seems." It just about sums it all up in one sentence.
Particularly is this true when exploring the Name of Jesus. It is,
indeed, the Name above all names. I doubt if it is possible for our finite
minds to fully plumb the depths of its meaning.
It represents God with us. Mt 1:23 It means that Jehovah is our
Saviour. The Gentiles (Nations) shall put their trust in His Name.
His Name is our authority for preaching. His Name, through faith in His
Name causes healings to take place.
When a sinner calls upon that Name, his sins are forgiven. When a
person who is bound by habits and fears of all kinds calls on that Name, they
are delivered and set free.
When Christians call on that Name, they can gain victory over works
of the flesh which drag them down and keep them defeated.
When Pastors and their congregations band together and call on that
Name, Church problems are dissolved and fade away in the face of the rising
Spiritual tide in the midst.
Floundering marriages are healed when the subjects humbly call on that
all-powerful Name.
The Name of Jesus is our gateway into the Kingdom of God. We are
given the privilege of suffering for that Name.
There is no other Name given among men whereby we must be saved.
It is a privilege to be baptised into, and be called by the Name of
Jesus.
Every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that
Jesus Christ is LORD. GOD HAS MADE HIM BOTH LORD AND CHRIST!
