Was I out of line re: my message toward Moderate Apostolics? If so, I
sincerely apologize. This was not my intention; I merely stating how I
feel. If you see the need for prayer and wisdom on my part, please do
not unsuscribe me. I need the fellowship..God Bless
Me: You are most definitely not out of line, Sister Wenona. In fact, I
found your post to be most refreshing. We are fooling ourselves if we
believe that we are the only ones who have truth. We are called the
"body" of Christ and we need to allow all of the parts to function as God
intended.
Well, there has been much talk of Holiness and what it is around her, so
I'll throw in my two cents. I, too, have left the traditional church
and am now a part of a ministry. We don't fit any of the traditional
"molds" but we earnestly seek to follow the Spirit of God. God desires
obedience that comes from a heart of love. Check out Matthew 21:28-30.
Here we see two brothers. One had an outward appearance of not wanting
to do his father's will until he felt convicted and then he did it
willingly. The other brother "appeared" right, but his heart was not
right.
Jesus gave us two commandments, not a "list." He said to love the Lord
our God with all of our heart and soul and mind and to love our neighbor
as we love ourself. If we do these, then holiness will follow. It must
come from a heart of love or it is phony adherence to religious
standards. We need only to read the seven woes to see Jesus' opinion of
man-made rules.
Well I supposed I have diverged a bit to cover a few of the things I have
seen posted these last few days, but I've been chewing on all of this and
I finally needed to respond.
As for your comment that we should "do whatever it takes to keep the
peace." This would be my only place of disagreement with you. We cannot
ever compromise with sin to keep the peace. Tthen we are only keeping
peace with the devil himself. I'm sure that you probably meant it in the
proper context. It's just that I've been seeing some denominations
twist scripture so far as to accept things such as homosexuality and
abortion. We need to be able to take everything that we here from our
brothers and sisters to the litmus test of the Word. We must love them
and pray for them but we should not need to condone their sin in any way.
God bless you sister Winona. I'm so glad that you have been restored and
that you are allowing God to once again show you His ways.
