Microwave anger

Hi everyone!

After all of our discussion about negative posts and leaving the list, I
have a few observations.

1. Like it or not, we are a family. First, a family in Christ. Secondly,
a family because of this list. The rapidity of email brings people closer
together in many ways.

2. Envision a family sitting down for dinner. Maybe this doesn't happen
in your family, but when my extended family gets together, we inevitably
begin discussing politics, religion, and current events. My family is
also full of vocal, opinionated people (not a bad thing), so it is
expected that there will be disagreement on at least one issue. However,
no matter how vehemently we disagree, we are still a family.

3. Microwave anger. My grandmother always told me that if I ever wrote
a letter in anger, I should wait at least one day to mail it. Our society
has now progressed (?) to the point that we are accustomed to instantaneous
satisfaction. If you're hungry, pop something in the microwave. If you
need information, look it up on the net. If you need to talk to someone,
call them or email them. Maybe much of our "negative posts" could be
eliminated if we simply postponed delivery for one day and then reread it
before sending. Is it really necessary for a person to know within seconds
that you disagree with them?

*"much of our negative posts" should read "many of our negative posts".
I'm telnetting, and I don't know how to go back and edit.

-Lisa :)
