Dear Moderates,

'Set down' is a pretty univeral colloquialism in this area, and I 
know others around the nation who understand the term as well.  
Others may call it 'silencing' (which I think sounds even worse).  At 
any rate, this form of Church judgement has been likened to the time 
a child spends contemplating their error.  It's not really intended 
to be a punishment but a time of personal, spiritual reflexion and 
restoration.
