This sounds useful (and fun). I'll start the list. :-)
1. Being "set down" (probably not a phrase we would want to use
around visitors, anyhow) :-) This one has always bothered me.
2. "Getting" the Holy Ghost (As in, "Jim Bob *got* the Holy
Ghost yesterday." To be biblically accurate we should probably
say "Jim Bob received the gift of the Holy Ghost yesterday.")
3. "Standards" (BTW, Bro. Steve, did you make up the term
"Spiritual disciplines?")
4. "Shouting" (Well, I guess there is biblical precedent for
this one, but it can make a visitor think "huh?")
5. "New Converts" (Ugh! This really makes us sound cultic.
Some churches actually have a "New Converts Class." If I were
visiting a church in which the pastor was announcing information
about a "New Converts Class" I would be looking for the nearest
exit!)
God speed,

blank" Van Ooteghem
