Couldn't help but think that higher-fire members might be interested in
this testimony obtained from the internet.
My family and I were recently led by the Lord to bail from a
prominent church regularly seen on TBN and other channels. Many of you
know
the ministry as the pastor is Rod Parsley and the show is called
"Breakthrough".
Pastor Parsley is preaching the Jubilee hard, and from personal
observation,
he preaches it so dramatically that the people within the church blindly
accept what he preaches without studying what the Bible says. After all,
they are taught that the role of the pastor is to "hear God for us and
then
bring the Word God gives him."
I was excited to learn that this was the "Jubilee" at first, until I got
a
major "check" in my spirit. So I went into the Word. Here is what I
found...
1 - In the real Jubilee, there was no sowing or reaping, yet the people
on
TBN as well as my former pastor are preaching that because it is
"Jubilee",
SOW your seed and REAP a harvest - blatantly against scripture.
2 - Also, if it is Jubilee, God is a liar. He promised in His Word that
before the Jubilee, He would provide supernaturally for the 49th year
(7th
year of 7 year period), the Jubilee (50th year) and also enough for the
following year so they would make it until the harvest.
(This is as I understand it and also from consulting with the Orthodox
Jews,
which I took the time to do)
3 - In the Biblical Jubilee, the people were also to have the year off
from
regular work, thus the no sowing or reaping. This was to be a party and
a
celebration.
4 - In the Jubilee, all debts are cancelled that are owed to you
Needless to say, I had to withdraw my children from their Christian
school
because I owed them so much money, was deceived by the school into owing
them double, and have seen no cancellation of my debts. After all, they
"need" the money to build a new $5,000,000 extension to their church
building, and took school funds to purchase TV time that should have
been
used to fix leaky roofs and purchase computers. Needless to say they are
about to raise tuition drastically for the coming school year.
This is only the tip of the iceberg, however, as the people at Parsley's
church have also been taught to "prophecy whatever you want, and you
shall
have it." (especially because we are in "Jubilee")
The pastor walks in wild manifestations such as the ones seen in the
video
clips from Toronto... to that I say "big deal".
To be honest, our family lived a life of hell on earth while the
pastoral
leadership built mansions and flew their private jets. We were expected
to
work and never miss a service and sow in every offering. I often got
only 3
or 4 hours of sleep a night to fulfill all of my obligations.
This was and is not of God, and it is not blasphemy of the Holy Spirit
to
say this. It is manipulation pure and simple. It is "gimmick"
Christianity.
When the Word of God is shelved for any reason for something of the
Spirit,
I am reminded that the Holy Spirit always points to Jesus.
So I saw first-hand that it was all a game designed to manipulate us out
of
our money.
Yes, to "obey God", we suffered financially while the leaders prospered.
We
even lived homeless because we "paid our tithes" when it came to tithing
or
rent. We never saw the promised "100-fold return", BUT.. we did see
financial miracles from time to time, and were delivered miraclulously
from
homelessness. This does not mean the church is right, but that I serve a
wonderful and sovereign God! Hallelujah!
I could go on and on here, but I will say this before I close.. I will
have
nothing to do with TBN, Pastor Parsley, Benny Hinn, or these other
preachers
who resort to gimmicks. I know people who attend BAG and Toronto, and
who
have attended there, and while some do walk away changed, the experience
is
for the most part a gimmick as they are seeking and now experiencing the
"move of the Spirit" that we experienced at Parsley's church.
God gave us a Bible. It is His written Word. I will never again accept
anything "extra-Biblical" and am wary or strange prophecies, requests
for
money, and strange antics. I can rely on His Word. I cannot rely on
chicken
sounds. In revivals past, manifestations such as these were dealt with
by
the casting out of demons. Now we call it the "Holy Spirit".
We serve a wonderful God. I am thankful that we were delivered from that
whole mess. We are now meeting and associating with Christians who
believe
God, walk in the Spirit, and love one another.
And please understand I am not bitter.. I am thankful. :o)
I made a webpage (before I left the church) that makes this clear..
please
check it out if you have the time...
