Hi everyone!

>From now until next April I will be working on my senior thesis. I will be
writing on women in ministry in the United Pentecostal Church. The format
will be a bit different in that it will be based almost entirely on the oral
histories of UPC women who are actively involved in ministry. This is still
in the very preliminary stages, but the basic idea of the project is a
continued collaboration with these women for the next year in order to gather
their stories, suggestions, etc. concerning women's ministry. I have a growing
list of women I hope to include in the project, and I am in the process of
contacting them.

Because I would like this project to have some value to people other than me
and my thesis advisor, I am gathering suggestions from everyone I know
concerning who to involve in the project. I am contacting a variety of women
in all types of ministry: pastors, evangelists, missionaries, musicians, etc.
Please email me your suggestions, along with a brief description of the woman's
ministry and how I can contact her (if you have that information). I'm limitingthis to UPC women for practical reasons only. (I realize there are many
annointed women outside the UPC, but I can't possibly do justice to women's
ministry in the entire Apostolic movement in only a year.)

Last, but most importantly, please be in prayer with me concerning this
project. Most of my professors (my thesis advisor in particular) view the
UPC as a cult. While they are interested in my research, they refuse to
acknowledge the UPC as anything other than an interesting religious and
emotional phenomenon. I've successfully changed some of their views about
Pentecostal people as individuals, but I'm still working on their views of our
beliefs and organization. Please pray with me.

Thank you,
Lisa :)
